Pump Priming
Initialzündung; Begriff der Finanzwissenschaft für den expansiven Impuls (Erhöhung der privaten Investitionstätigkeit und des privaten Konsums), den eine Volkswirtschaft durch Erhöhung der Staatsausgaben im Zustand der Unterbeschäftigung erhält. Der Begriff ist abgeleitet vom „Angießen“ einer Wasserpumpe vor der Inbetriebnahme. P.p. ist abhängig von der Höhe der zusätzlichen Staatsausgaben sowie von der Finanzierung i.d.R. durch Schuldaufnahme ( Deficit Spending). Auch die Reaktionen der Wirtschaftssubjekte sind von entscheidender Bedeutung für die Wirkungsweise dieses Effekts.
